In Deep Water, a manipulative couple is raising their daughter of 6 years. They are in a total board marriage as Vic lacks a certain passion that Melinda always wants to be in, besides the toxic marriage the couple does not want to break this marriage. To keep their marriage alive the couple makes a decision on which both were agreed, in which Melinda is allowed to take lovers as long as she doesn’t break up their family.
At the end of the movie, we see Vic and Melinda finally start to feel more passionate about their marriage. After Vic has killed two lovers of his wife. But he was not caught, although Melinda was sure that Vic had killed her lover Charlie.
Melinda doesn’t accuse him immediately of the murder as Vic did not say anything to her when he got to know about her new boyfriend Tony, instead, she started to feel more attracted toward Vic.

After returning from the picnic with Melinda and Trixie Vic returns to the river to hide the deadbody of Tony. Simultaneously Melinda finds Tony’s wallet inside Vic’s snails box.
Melinda calls Don who is a new neighbor of them and is suspects Vic of killing Charlie. Don confronts Vic at the gorge. After seeing Vic moving Tony’s body, Don drives on his car to tell the police, with Vic runs behind him with the bike to stop Don. When Vic rides his bike in the direct path of Don’s car, Lionel Washington (Tracy Letts) swerves off the road, falling to his death as he drives off a cliff.
In the meantime, Van Allen’s daughter Trixie sees that her mother Melinda has packed a suitcase and throws it into the pool, and tells her that they’re not leaving. When Vic returns home, he finds Melinda sitting on the stairs with a slight smile on her face. She drowns Tony’s licenses that she found with Vic’s snails into the Deep Water. By the end of Deep Water, everything is well for the Van Allens’ marriage now both are more passionate about their love and marriage.
