The movie is set around a well-known writer named Loretta Sage (Sandra Bullock). Sage is seen in great grief after the demise of his husband and due to this grief, she is not able to concentrate on her job fully.
This grief pushed her to a limit that she started comparing her disdain for her books with her cover model named Alan (Channing Tatum). Alan is an attractive man who likes to indulge her readers at singing events.
Loretta is living a below-average life until, in an event of promoting her book, she met a rich-explorer guy named Fairfax (Daniel Radcliffe). Fairfax knows Loretta as the writer of a book named “The Lost City” and he is quite sure of the fact that “The Lost City” exists in reality. Fairfax wants Loretta to convert some ancient writing so that he can use them to find treasure.
