Film The Card Counter Overview

Absolution is an extended game in Pa Schrader’s THE CARD COUNTER. Notified with Schrader’s label cinematic enthusiasm, the vindication suspense explains the story of an ex-military inquisitor turned speculator tormented by his past ghost.

Film of a wagerer and a retired serviceman who layout to rectify a young man craving revenge on a common rival from their yore. Tell just wishes to play cards. His frugal presence on the casino journey is devastated when he is addressed by Cirk, a powerless and provoked young man looking for help to carry out his agenda for retribution in an army colonel.

Tell observes a possibility of salvation along with his bond with Cirk. Stimulating sponsorship from a dreadful wager financier La Linda, Tell takes Cirk with him on the road, going from casino to casino until the unlikely trio set their spectacles in conquering the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas. Cirk on the straight and narrow manifest unusual, yanking Tell back into the gloaming of his past.
