Pixar’s 27th feature film ‘Elemental’ is based on the four personified elements living together in a big city. Pixar has revealed the release date a year before from it is expected to be released. Elemental will come to the theater on June 16, 2023.

Peter Sohn will direct the film. The concept art of the film shows the two main characters strolling through the bustling town with architecture inspired by the four elements.

Elemental is a story of an odd couple Wade and Ember, a go-with-the-flow guy and a fiery woman of contrasting elements. There is a city where all the four elements earth, wind, fire, and water, live together and the couple will explore the city together.

While on their way the couple will realize how much water and fire are similar even if they are different. In the city, they will see all the elements blended together

Wade and Ember take in the sights, leaving little splashes of water and bursts of fire as they walk.

Where did the idea for Elemental come from?

Director Sohn got the idea for the film from his own experiences growing up in New York and bring something that normally isn’t. He said in a statement “My parents emigrated from Korea in the early 1970s and built a bustling grocery store in the Bronx, We were among many families who ventured to a new land with hopes and dreams—all of us mixing into one big salad bowl of cultures, languages, and beautiful little neighborhoods. That’s what led me to Elemental.”

Director Peter Sohn added “Our story is based on the classic elements—fire, water, land, and air. Some elements mix with each other, and some don’t. What if these elements were alive?”

Elemental reaches theaters on June 16, 2023, till then you can watch Pixar’s Toy Story spinoff Lightyear on June 17 this year. (Pixar Animation)
