Beethoven is a 1992 American family comedy film, directed by Brian Levant. It is the first installment of the Beethoven film series. The film was written by John Hughes and Amy Holden Jones and distributed by Universal Pictures.
The film’s story centers on a St. Bernard dog named after the German composer of the same name and owned by the Newton family.

What does “Beethoven” is about?
The film is about a family, The Newton family taht lives in their comfortable home, but there seems to be something missing. This “hole” is filled by a small puppy, who walks into their home and their lives. Beethoven, as he is named, grows into a giant of a dog… a St Bernard. Doctor Varnick, the local vet has a secret and horrible sideline, which requires lots of dogs for experiments. Beethoven is on the bad doctor’s list.
