They all pay tribute to some of music’s great stars in the sky at the 64th Grammy Awards 2022 on Sunday night.

Cynthia Erivo, Leslie Odom Jr., Ben Platt, and West Side Story actress Rachel Zegler performance opened with a tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins who died a week before the ceremony.

They honored Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins, Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts, Meat Loaf and his collaborator Jim Steinman, Don Everly of the Everly Brothers, DMX, Biz Markie, Betty Davis, Lee Scratch Perry, Ronnie Spector, Vicente Fernández, the Monkees’ Michael Nesmith, and many more.

Drakeo, Syl Johnson, and Elza Soares were not mentioned in the “In Memoriam”. Many peoples expressed anger on social media regarding Virgil Abloh’s photo, which read “Hip-Hop Designer.” Abloh was the creative director for the menswear branch of French luxury brand Louis Vuitton.
