TV Shows Age Rating System
On December 19, 1996, Age Rating for TV shows was introduced for the first time in U. S. This rating is used to rate TV shows so that the audience can be awarded before they start to watch them. Additional, not all the shows are appropriate for kids, this rating can be used by parents to know the type of content involved in the show and later decide whether to let their kids watch it or not.

TV-Y
This rating means the show can be watched by all kids irrespective of their age. The shows in the TV-Y category are basically made for very young kids. However, it is enjoyed by every kid out there because of its light nature.
TV-Y7
The shows under the TV-Y7 category are developed for kids above the age of 7. The content in this kind of show may not be appropriate for kids below 7. There may be something in the show that may not be suitable for very young kids. However, the content will not be that intense. It will be good for above 7 kids age as they know how to differentiate between real and fake things.
TV-G
The content in the TV-G rating is considered to be suitable for all-age kids by most parents. However, some may consider it not suitable for the very young age group. The decision varies from person to person. The shows under this rating need to be further investigated before their kids start to watch them.
TV-PG
In TV-PG rating, some of the content may not be suitable for all kids out there. Parents need to investigate the content. The shows in this rating may include some kind of violence which some parents will find not suitable for young kids. However, the content will not be that strong.
TV–14
The content in TV-14 may not be appropriate for kids under 14. There may be some scenes that can disturb the kids out there and parents will not want their kids under 14 to watch. Shows under this rating contain some strong content that is not appropriate for young kids. However, the content may vary from show to show.
TV-MA
The shows under TV-MA are developed for adults only. The content in this may not be suitable for kids under 17 as the content in these shows is very extreme in nature. They could disturb the audience under 17. However, the content may vary from show to show.
