Todd Phillips Confirms Joker 2 Is On the Way: Almost a year after the rumors that Todd Phillips’ Joker will be coming back with a sequel, Phillips has now officially announced the news. The writer and director shared the news via an Instagram post that confirms a second film is on the way as well as the current title — Joker: Folie à Deux.

In the two picture post, Philips shared the cover picture of the Joker 2’s script which is a red color fitting for the film’s central character. The script cover picture reveals that Todd Phillips and Scott Silver will be returning to pen the screenplay. The second picture is a black and white shot of the Joker himself, Joaquin Phoenix, holding the open script in hand while smoking and wearing a pair of glasses.
However, the makers did not reveal any information regarding the plot of the film so far. The title “Folie à deux” refers to a “rare delusional disorder shared by two or more people with close emotional ties.” It can be expected that this time the film Joker might feature Harley Quinn as we know that she has close ties to the Joker.
Joker was initially released in 2019 and starred Joaquin Phoenix, Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, Frances Conroy, Brett Cullen, Shea Whigham, Douglas Hodge, Dante Pereira-Olson, Sondra James, and Carrie Louis Putrello. The film Joker is currently available on HBO Max.
