Pennywise in no time became a haunted household name because of the vision of the cast and crew of IT. Now, the shape-shifting killer clown is all set to return in a documentary titled Pennywise: The Story of IT. This documentary is expected to provide information related to the making of the miniseries.

The documentary discusses the controversy of airing something so sinister on television at the time when the miniseries was released, saying, “Advertisers were very nervous, this was a children-in-jeopardy story, we were breaking new grounds.” Pennywise: The Story of IT will present the entire procedure of how the makers brought King’s visceral story to television and how they changed the entire game of the horror genre.
The miniseries IT was directed by Tommy Lee Wallace and adapted by Lawrence D. Cohen. The miniseries contained a total of 2 episodes and it premiered on the ABC network.
