Rule of Wolves is a young adult fantasy adventure novel by Heigh Bardugo and the second book of the series of and the King of Scars Duology. Rule Of Wolves was published on March 20, 2021, by Imprint. 

Another series of Grishaverse is Shadow and Bone Trilogy which is further a collection of three books, shadow and bone#1 and siege and shadow#2, and Ruin and Rising#3. Which is further continuous as Six of Crows Duology.

Six of Crows Duology further contains Six of Crows and the Crooked Kingdom. All the series of the book together are called Bardugo’s Grishaverse.

Rule of Wolves Summary

Shu Han’s ruler, Queen Makhi Kir-Taban, plans to kill Ehri, her sister to get the throne. Nina Zenik has successfully entered the Ice Court under the alias Mila Jandersdat, serving as Hanne Brum’s courtier. She gains the favor of Fjerda’s Prince Rasmus when she uses her Grisha healing power to lessen his chronic illness.

She discovers that Jarl Brum has kept Nikolai Lantsov’s birth father, Magnus Opjer, under the lock-up and plans to use letters between him and the former Ravkan king to get Nikolai deposed. Hanne and Rasmus come closer but Rasmus, but it is discovered that he is a power-hungry tyrant who feels satisfaction at other people’s pain she also discovers his dark secrets. Meanwhile, Nina and Hanne develop a romantic relationship.

Nikolai struggles to keep the throne due to the allegation of his illegitimate. He has made control over his demon. He works with David Kostyk to develop nuclear warheads and together with the help of Neena messages from inside they are able to create antidotes to Jurda Parem. Zoya Nazyalensky mourns her mentor Juris’s death. The Darkling brokers made a deal to let him meet with Alina Starkov and in return, he’ll pay anything.

Makhi vanished all of Ehri’s bodyguards but got injured badly but manages to survive with the help of Grisha healers. Ehri, Tamar Kir-Bataar, and Mayu Kir-Kaat escape to Shu Han and persuade the governing body to remove Makhi by exposing the khergud program, and Mayu reunites with her brother Reyem. Leyti Kir-Taban, Ehri and Makhi’s grandmother, takes back the throne.

David is killed on the day of his wedding and Ravka becomes weaker. Nikolai and Zoya travel to Ketterdam under the cover of Sturmhond and employ the aid of Kaz Brekker to steal a cache of titanium from a military base on Kerch. They both came close to each other but Zoya refuses her feeling for Nikolai. When they return to Ravka, Nikolai meets an escaped Magnus and accepts that he is an impure king.

Zoya rescues Nina and escapes by accepting her love for Nikolai and becoming a dragon, but Hanne is dead and it seems Rasmus killed her. Zoya’s dragon form finishes off the Fjerdan fleet and she becomes worshipped as Sankta Zoya by the Fjerdans and Ravkans. Hanne is revealed to have faked her body to look like Rasmus’s and she and Nina become engaged while the Apparat is imprisoned. Nikolai, who has accepted the demon within him, leaves his crown, and Zoya becomes the Dragon Queen, first of the Nazyalensky royal bloodline.

After the battle, Shu Han and Ravka make amends. The Darkling kept himself in Sankt Feliks’s body. Thornwood, stopping the flow of the Fold and assigning himself to boundless torture. Zoya, Genya, and Alina plan to find a way to kill Darkling completely by finding Feliks’s heart. Zoya sends a message to Kaz and the Crows that they have a new mission from the Queen.
