The writers of Stranger Things have announced the upcoming final and fifth season recently this month August 2, 2022, on Twitter captioning "Day 1".
“We’re going to take a little vacation in July. And then we’re going to come back. I know that the writer’s room is going to start in that first week of August.”- Ross spoke with Collider.
Duffer Brothers, Matt and Ross Duffer, wrote a letter which explains that the 4th season was bigger than ever and also the beginning of the end.
In an interview with Screen Rant in March 2022, the director and EP Shawn Levy said that he agrees with the ending of Stranger Things with S5.
The cast of Season 5 is still a mystery and yet unknown. There is a lot of suspense made by the creators for their final shot.
Meanwhile, the production of the S5 hasn't started yet so it neither has any release date nor any other info, so it is possible that the S5 will appear in 2023 or 2024.

Matt Duffer recently spoke with TVLine that he doesn't want to but has to end the series. “The ending is the hard thing. That’s obviously the stressful thing. We really want to stick the landing.”
The ending will make many fans sad but the last one would be different assured by Matt. “It’s going to be Return of the King-ish with, like, eight endings,” he said.
