R'Bonney Gabriel is the Miss USA 2022 as Miss Texas, on a Monday night at the Grand Sierra Resort in Reno, she was born in Texas.
Former Miss USA 2021 Elle Smith graciously passed the crown to Miss USA 2022 Gabriel that is the first time that an Asian American woman won the Miss USA title.
On October 3 she crowned the 2022 Miss USA during the live broadcast of the popular pageant.
She is Filipina because her father moved to America from the Philippines on a college scholarship and then they meet her mom, Gabriel says she is a very proud Filipina Texan.
Her costume for Miss USA was a representation of the Texas state flower he wears a bright blue bodysuit with silver sequins.
R'Bonney Gabriel makes some of her own costumes, and she says how she loves to “reuse old pieces” of clothing to help avoid the pollution that the fashion industry can cause.
She Reconstructed a red color’s coat to make her Miss Texas USA opening number dress.
Miss Texas also teaches sewing at the Magpies and Peacocks fashion house in Houston, TX, and explains to their students how they reuse old pieces.
Her classes are the part of MAKR Collective program, which gives different life skills to trauma victims like domestic violence survivors.
