Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest Winners 2022 and Prize Money

The Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest event was first established in 1967 and has since become an annual fixture of the Independence Day celebrations on Coney Island in New York. 

The rules of the contest are pretty simple: eat as many hot dogs (and their buns) in a ten-minute span.

In recent years this contest gained public attention due to the stardom of Takeru "The Tsunami" Kobayashi and Joey "Jaws" Chestnut.

On Monday once again in front of fans in the annual Fourth of July Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest man event was won by  Chestnut who ate 63 hot dogs and claim his 15th crown.

Last year Chestnut set the world record by eating 76 hot dogs and buns also he won in 2020 with 75 hot dogs.

2022 defending women's champion is Miki Sudo, who ate 40 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

First place in both the men's and women's divisions receive a $10,000 prize. A remaining $20,000 purse is divided among the runners-up in both divisions.

The winner of the men's division receives a legendary mustard-colored, WWE-style belt, while the women's champion receives a Pepto-Bismol-colored and sponsored pink belt.
