Lil Nas X is an American rapper who gained mainstream recognition after posting his first country rap song that he released online.
He become an established singer in less than a year after releasing his “Old Town Road” song. His real name is Montero Lamar Hill and his stage name was a tribute to rapper “Nas”.
When he was in fourth grade, Lil Nas X started learning trumpet, and later, he the first chair during his junior high school days.
He got enrolled at the University of West Georgia for one year and later dropped his studies in between to create music while working at Zaxby’s.
On December 3, 2018, the life of Lil Nas took an unexpected turn when his video went viral on TikTok with his country rap song titled “Old Town Road”.
Later, he decided to promote his self-produced song as a meme and created the “YeeHaw Challenge”. His song Old Town Road become a worldwide hit and gave immense popularity.
He became the record holder for having a song remain at number 1 for 15 weeks as an open artist. He broke the record of Elton John’s hit “Candle in the wind”.
