Lady Gaga to join Joker 2

The Joker is back and this time it is coming with a new star Lady Gaga to star opposite Joaquin Phoenix.

The director of Joker sequel is Todd Phillips, the Oscar-winning, $1 billion-grossing, 2019 Warner Bros. based on the DC villain.

Last week director Todd Phillips revealed the title for the sequel Joker: Folie à Deux along with an image of The Clown Prince of Crime himself, Joaquin Phoenix, reading the script.

As reported exclusively by The Hollywood Reporter, Lady Gaga is in early talks to star in Joker 2.

While the role Gaga would play is being kept under wraps by Warner Brothers, THR says it would in fact be a version of fan-favorite character Harley Quinn.

Speculation that Harley Quinn would appear in the movie first bubbled to the surface after Phillips posted the cover of the screenplay to Instagram on June 7.

But Joker is notorious for his on-again, off-again abusive relationship with Harley Quinn, his Arkham Asylum psychiatrist who falls in love with him and becomes his crime accomplice.

Joaquin Phoenix won best actor for his performance as Joker, aka Arthur Fleck; he’s also expected to reprise his performance, though his deal isn’t settled yet.

Even though Phoenix is still not officially signed on to the sequel yet, it looks like The Joker has found his other half in Gaga’s Harley Quinn.
