Kenan Thompson is 'Ridiculously Exciting' to Host 74th Annual Emmy Award

Kenan Thompson is going to host the 2022 Emmy Awards. He is way more excited to be the host of the evening.

"Like all TV fans, I can't wait to see the stars from my favorite shows," the Saturday Night Live star said in the announcement.

NBC and the Television Academy announced on Tuesday Kenan, 44, will host the 74th annual celebration of all things TV.

Thompson said this is the first time he is going to emcee such a ceremony, and this is what making him more exicted.

"Being a part of this incredible evening where we honor the best of the tv community is way exciting, and to do it on NBC — my longtime network family — makes it even more special." He added.

Kenan is well-regarded as one of the funniest, likable, and most accomplished performers of the last two decades and his tenure.

The popularity that he has gained by being a part of Saturday Night Live speaks for itself. He is loved by everyone for his work.

Jen Neal said in the announcement. "We know he'll bring an excitement and professionalism to the Emmy Awards that a show of this stature deserves."

Thompson joined Saturday Night Live in 2003 and holds the record for the longest-tenured cast member in the show's history.
