HBO said "House of the Dragon" will be airing in Russia

at HBO has confirmed that they will be able to stream House of the Dragon in Russia through the popular streaming service Amediateka.

HBO spokesperson Anna Nicoll said in a statement, "While we paused any new business in Russia, we continue to fulfill contractual obligations.”

But the question arises here Why the launch of "House of the Dragon" is shocking in Russia? and Why HBO is launching their content despite the disagreement of Parent company WB?

Due to the recent war between Ukraine and Russia, Russians will not be able to watch and enjoy the newest American films.

CEO of Time Warner Jason Kilar announced that they are "pausing all new business and production in Russia.

"This includes ceasing broadcast of our channels, halting all new content licensing with Russian entities, and pausing our planned theatrical and games releases.” Jason Kilar said.

It is currently unknown when the contract will end with HBO with Russian broadcast.

HBO has a "multi-year deal" back in 2017 with Amediateka, which is also promoting the "Game of Thrones" spinoff House of the Dragon in Russia in its email newsletter.

The first episode of House of the Dragon will debut on HBO and HBO Max on August 21, 2022. The launch date of House of the Dragon in Russia is unknown yet.
