Country Star Toby Keith battling with Stomach Cancer

Toby Keith shared the news with fans on his Instagram post on Sunday, June 12 that he has stomach cancer.

Toby Keith also confirmed he was diagnosed last fall and has been receiving treatment for the last six months.

“I’ve spent the last 6 months receiving chemo, radiation, and surgery." he shared on Instagram.

"So far, so good. I need time to breathe, recover and relax,” he added to the message and then also shared to Twitter.

“I am looking forward to spending time with my family. But I will see the fans sooner than later. I can’t wait. -T,”  he ended the message.

Toby would not be able to perform at his next show which is coming up soon he is scheduled to perform at Illinois’ 2022 RibFest on Friday, June 17.

He also played at the 2022 San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in Feb 2022, several months into treatment and his diagnosis.

In 2021, President Donald Trump awarded Keith the National Medal of Arts, which the National Endowment for the Arts.

Keith has performed hundreds of shows for US service members abroad, including in Afghanistan and Iraq, as well as at events for Presidents Donald Trump, Barack Obama, and George W Bush.
