Billie Eilish Opens Up About Living With Tourettes Syndrome
On David Letterman's Netflix chat show, 'My Next Guest Needs No Introduction’, Billie Eilish was seen talking openly about her life with Tourettes Syndrome.
In this show, American Singer Billie Eilish revealed that she was diagnosed with Tourette syndrome when she was only 11 years old.
While speaking with David on the show, Billie started moving her head. She claimed this as one of Tourette's tics, according to a report.
Tourette Syndrome is a disorder associated with the nervous system. It causes “tics” in the person. Tics are sudden twitches, movements, or sounds that people do repeatedly.
These tics can not be controlled by the person. Examples of the tics includes blinking of eyes over and over again or making a grunting sound unwillingly.
Having tics is like having hiccups. It includes body motions like blinking, sniffing, groaning, throat clearing, grimacing, shoulder motions, and head movements.
"I don't tic at all, because the main tics that I do constantly, all day long, are like, I wiggle my ear back and forth and raise my eyebrow and click my jaw," said Billie.
"These are things you would never notice if you're just having a conversation with me, but for me, they're very exhausting," Billie further added.
The singer also revealed that people around her don't always react appropriately when she has a tic, Billie explained while talking about Tourettes Syndrome.
