Berserk Will Continue Without Kentaro Miura by Miura’s Best Friend

In a surprise announcement, it is announced that the Berserk manga will resume publication without its original creator, Kentaro Miura.

The publisher of Berserk announced that it plans to resume production on the critically beloved Berserk manga series.

The publisher released a statement in both English and Japanese on Twitter explaining their reasoning for continuing the series.

Miura's died from an aortic dissection in May 2021 and the final chapter that Miura worked on himself was published in Japan last September.

"We are truly touched by the love you all have Berserk and the influence it has had on your lives. It is truly sad that Kentaro Miura is not here" Young Animal Editing Department stated

"The story will continue based on plans Miura shared with a friend, Holyland and Jisatsutou author Kouji Mori, along with memos and other materials left behind" they continued

The series will continue with six more chapters of the Fantasia Arc/Elf Island storyline, after which the manga will begin a brand new story arc.

Kouji Mori has promised to be as extremely faithful to the vision of Kentaro Miura as possible in bringing Berserk to completion

He went on to conclude: “Many of you may not be fully satisfied with the Berserk written without Miura, but we hope everyone’s thoughts will be with us. We ask you for your continued support.”
