Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower is the second wife of King Viserys I Targaryen and the daughter of Otto, Viserys' Hand.  

Alicent Hightower was the close companion of Jaehaerys before the death of Aemma Arryn. Alicent remained a constant figure in King Viserys view.

King Visery chose Alicent Hightower as his new bride after the death of his first wife despite advice from his small council not to do so. 

Alicent developed a strong rivalry with Rhaenyra as both were setting eyes on being the Queen of Westeros.

Alicent is an intelligent woman,  who has grown up seeing the political mechanism of the kingdom for becoming King and Queen.

 Alicent Hightower after the death of his husband Viserys quickly made a move to make his son 'Aegon' the new King. 

Olivia Cooke has earlier played the role of Emma in Bates Motel, Ready Player One as Samantha Evelyn Cook, and also Sound of Metal as Lou.

In the trailer of 'House of the Dragon' Alicent is seen running towards an unseen character carrying the catspaw dagger which is used to kill people.

Fans are excited to watch House of the Dragon starring Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower on HBO and HBO Max on August 21.
