Demon Slayer Game Review

The Hinokami Chronicles is a solid fighter of the game but has some downsides. The Gameplay and mechanics of this game are very good and easy to understand. And because of that, anyone can easily pick it up and jump in. Story mode is an abridged retailing of the first season and movie from the anime.

It is presented with plenty of boss fights. Story mode is where you can unlock characters and costumes. Story mode has eight chapters and can be finished in 8 to 10 hours.

While story mode can be fun for the most part, it has parts that drag. In many instances, you are “free’ for exploring the map. You can complete small challenges for rewards, but other than that, it is pretty dead. Often you will find yourself walking in a straight line doing nothing and no way to speed it up. I assume this is to extend the game’s length, but that doesn’t mean it’s fun.

I’ve touched on the gameplay already but let me elaborate further. You have a basic block for your light and heavy attack.

All the characters have their special moves, which are their breathing techniques. You chain your attacks and techniques to be prepared for the maximum part of the game. You have a gauge that can allow you to boost and increase your attributes or perform your Ultimate Art when filled.

For the most part, characters feel unique that he/they can survive. Graphically this game is gorgeous. And it feels straight out of animation.

Characters look and move as they have to act like, arenas are stunning, and the open-world portions in story mode are just as amazing. The visuals truly pop when using the character’s techniques, and there will be Ultimate Art.

I’ve already mentioned the highs and lows of story mode, but there are still many issues if we go back to its downside. Some may feel that there is a lack of content, as with only 18 fighters at launch. And 6 of them are clones of other characters.

One of the major differences between them is their ultimate art. This only leaves us with 12 unique fighters, but even then, there are still some issues. There are six characters who all use water breathing techniques…

This wouldn’t necessarily be an issue if they didn’t reuse techniques for some of them. It makes them feel like clones of each other.

The issue that came across to you was the lack of playable demons. That there will be free DLC very soon, which is great but makes the launch feel empty.

The Characters aren’t the only thing lacking. There is hardly any replay value in story mode. You can complete missions in story mode for a higher rank and more unlockables.

Most of them were unlockable quotes, music tracks, and profile pictures which isn’t enough of an incentive except for collecting them all. There is no arcade mode which could have given it more replayability.

This game has hardly any costumes to speak of. Costumes could easily give more content. Even a more customization option can make your character and then pop out more. It is a solid fighting game but not worth the $60 price tag unless you are a huge demon slayer fan.

When they go by, more content and more characters will make it worth its price, making this review irrelevant. Someone asked if the digital deluxe edition is necessary for all the characters.

If you are asking me that, then the answer is no, You can unlock them normally through completing challenges.

It also has a deluxe edition where players unlock keys to have them right away. In this game, you will get to costume for the trio in their patient wear which is only available through the deluxe edition. There isn’t much to get in the deluxe edition besides a few avatars and some in-game currency.

But overall a great game with beautiful visuals and extremely satisfying fighting mechanics. It’s very easy to figure out the core mechanics and create your combos. With that being said, even though I enjoy the game, I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone unless it’s on sale.

It is not worth a $60 price tag with the horrible online ranked system currently in place. This game has virtually no punishment for disconnecting from a ranked match online other than a slap on the wrist and a tally added to the disconnects on your profile.

You feel ridiculous that you are being punished simply for outclassing your opponents. You will also face some of the disconnecting issues online, and the ranked leveling system is terrible. There are no real specific tiers to obtain, just stars added to your rank. No one wants to grind to 1, 2, or 3-star rank, and it’s not enticing. At the very least, they could’ve added the Demon Slayer ranks starting at Mizunoto and working your way up to Hashira or Demon.

It is slightly not a very great experience but if I will consider everything about this game, then this is a worth playing game, and it deserves one chance from the players.

If we consider the story plotline here, you will find out that the movement is clunky and running around gets mundane pretty quickly. Still, the boss battles are very fun, and I enjoyed reliving the cinematic experiences of the show.

However, this does not justify a $60 price tag. The mechanics of this game are incredibly fun, the animations look beautiful and execute combos, and the ultimate art specific to the characters you love is a pure dopamine rush. This game heavily lacks in the online department, though, and that’s the main factor that secures the longevity of any fighting game.

Hopefully, the developers guild of CyberConnect2 can push some changes that make this game complete, as it still feels like an early access project when it comes to online gameplay.

This game meets some more development to get a positive review, but for now, I am giving the mixed review for this game.

Worth playing the game. A good experience but not a great one. I like some of the characterizations of the game, and the mechanics are very good, but at the same time, the limitations given to the two characters are not that good.

It is very much overpriced for what it is. Good game, but wait for a sale. Not worth that much money comparing it to other new release games of its time, such as Forza and battlefield 2042. It feels like, at times, you are just paying money to watch a watered-down version of the anime.

Talking about its popularity, it’s a popular game, So many players have played and liked the game a lot, but some from the lot haven’t been able to experience it as a path-breaking game.

You will have to change yourself in a blade that destroys demons! In Solo Mode, follow Tanjiro through the story from the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Anime as he faces demons to turn his sister Nezuko, who has become a demon, back into a human.

In the Versus Mode, characters from the anime, including Tanjiro and Nezuko, can be freely matched against each other in a one-versus-one setting with up to two players playing online/offline. This is a simple but exhilarating battle system, and become the greatest demon slayer you can be!

But if you like anything about this game, go and give it a fair chance and enjoy the gameplay.
